Privacy Policy

KBMedia ("we", "us", "our") is a creative studio based in Tauranga, New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use kbmedia.nz, how we use it, and the rights you have under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- Information you provide. If you contact us by phone, email, or through a form on this site, we receive your name, contact details, and the content of your message.
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referrer). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Performance data. Vercel Speed Insights collects anonymous Core Web Vitals timings (page load, layout shift, interaction latency) so we can keep the site fast.
- Server logs. Like every web server, ours records your IP address, the URL you requested, and your user-agent string for security and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry.
- To improve the design, content, and performance of the site.
- To detect and prevent abuse of the site.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for visitor measurement. Vercel Web Analytics is cookie-free. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — the site will continue to work normally.
Third parties
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — site analytics. Privacy Policy.
- Vercel (Vercel Inc.) — hosting, analytics, performance monitoring. Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — may be involved at the network layer. Privacy Policy.
Data retention
Enquiry messages are retained for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records (typically up to 7 years for tax purposes). Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics by default.
Your rights under the NZ Privacy Act
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct it, and request that we delete it. To make a request, email karl@kbmedia.nz or call 027 537 4363. We will respond within 20 working days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS enabled. We restrict access to enquiry messages to people who need it to do their job.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will show when. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
